MetroLALSA Pa’lante Conference
MetroLALSA is a coalition of students from the thirteen metropolitan area law schools. Our members are committed to the advancement of Latino students in the legal profession. To that end, we work each year to host a conference to empower and unify the Latino legal community. Each conference provides students and attorneys with a forum to discuss issues concerning the Latino community while also providing opportunities for networking and career development.
Each year, the conference has been hosted by a different school with a different theme, but always with a clear objective: to help create future Latina/o leaders, to build and foster a network for these rising Latina/o leaders, and to empower our Latina/o communities to ensure their "voices" are heard. At the conference, our keynote and panelist speakers discuss and analyze contemporary issues affecting our communities, as well as provide invaluable insight to those in the legal profession. Over the years, we have been fortunate to host notable and inspirational Keynote speakers such as, the Honorable Rolando T. Acosta, Associate Justice of New York Appellate Division, First Department; and the Honorable Jenny Rivera, Associate Judge of the New York Court of Appeals.
